Kaitlyn + Riley | Summer Wedding at Evergreen Village
When I showed up to capture the girls getting their makeup done, I was informed that the ladies had only arrived a few minutes before because their limo broke down on the highway. Was the bride freaking out? Nope. She was so cool. Totally calm.
Yeah, we were a bit rushed in between the ceremony and reception because of the limo hiccup, but we had so much fun taking photos and hanging with the awesome bridal party, that it never felt rushed.
I loved all the details from this wedding. Kaitlyn’s mom made signs for the reception hall, the kissing game was a putting contest, and hockey teams marked the tables (Riley’s excellent contribution).
Mostly, I felt so humbled to be there to witness all aspects of the day and not simply be a guest. This was a family wedding that I could have just been invited to, but Riley and Kaitlyn wanted me to be there to photograph it too. So I got to be there when Kaitlyn’s parents saw her in her dress for the first time and I choked back my own tears. When Riley saw Kaitlyn walking towards her, I got the best view of his smiling face. There were so many fun moments of the day including having my own kids their. My oldest son even stole some moments on the dance floor.
